Notes

1.        Clicking on each chapter heading in the Table of Contents will link to the full text and graphics for each chapter.

2.        However, the conversion from WordStar to Microsoft Word and html text is still in progress. While some chapters are complete, some are appear only as summaries or conclusions.  Graphics are also being added.

3.        The conversion from the original text, written in WordStar, poses numerous formatting problems, including the proper representation of Scandinavian, Polish and Czech characters. These problems will be corrected when ever possible. However, there are additional problems with the display of foreign characters, due to the variety of Internet browsers. This text is prepared with the Microsoft Word and the currently available foreign characters. Tests show that most of them display well only with the appropriate version of Microsoft Exchange for IBM PC compatible computers.

4.        This page will be updated gradually and will differ from the original 1993/95 dissertation. The radiocarbon dates of the original were mostly uncelebrated. Recalibration is in progress.

5.        Any suggestions, corrections and other help will be most welcome.
