On Sunday Jan. 22, 2000 the Berliner Morgenpost reported on the
Paleolithic site of Klinge, 12 km east of
Cottbus, east Germany. The 128 000 to 113 000 year old site dates
to the Eem Warm Period. The site contains
mammoth, reindeer, horse, rhinoceros and fish remains. There are also
numerous seeds, fruits and tree remnants, including leafs, providing evidence
of linden, yew-tree, maple and beech etc. The site is some 70 m wide and 3 m
deep.
