Introduction

·         The tables were compiled and constitute part of the ca. 5000 Funnel Beaker culture tombs and German gallery-graves analyzed for the 1995 Ph. D. dissertation at the Anthropology Department, Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas.

·         The number of Polish tombs must be much higher. I have had no access to the national survey results of the 1990’s.

·         No guarantee for accuracy is made.

·         If you find any discrepancies, would like to add new information, have other comments, or would like to quote the contents, please contact Max Baldia.

Information on chamber ad grave construction is difficult to systematize. For the moment, the following  paragraphs must suffice.

1.      The long-mound of Kierzkowo 1, Znin, Bydgoszcz, Kujavia, has a megalithic enclosure and contains two narrow passage-graves. I have no dimensions for this tomb, although I have seen slides of the tomb, courtesy Dr. Jan Albert Bakker 1996. Bakker mentions this and a number of other tombs with multiple cists and/or megalithic chambers (cf. Bakker 1992:73-79). These tombs may be of Funnel Beaker or Globular Amphora culture origin and have not been cataloged as yet.

2.      The long-mound of Wietrzychowice 2 (Table 1) has a megalithic to sub-megalithic enclosure and contains two extended burials, each in its own grave with rectilinear, sub-megalithic stone frame. (cf. Midgley 1992 Fig 30 45/2, Milisauskas 1978:171 Fig. 6.23).
